You can do more than you think

Your experience influences your opinion about how high you can reach. If you want to be successful, it is essential to prepare to win. I once heard that training is the basis of any achievement. I am absolutely convinced that it is so. Whether you are preparing for a sporting event, an important speech, a sale or a tent trip, the better prepared you are, the better results. Tom Landry said once: “If you’re ready, you’ll be confident…and you’ll do your job.” True, planning and training gives you the security you need and the right to expect to win. What does it mean to be prepared? It means having on your hand the tools, skills, knowledge and attitude needed to achieve everything you set out to do. But what if your vision is to become an aviator and yet you don’t know how to fly? I guess you got my idea. To become a pilot, you need a lot of training before you even have the chance to turn your vision into reality. When I talk about training, to think that I’m talking about tools, skills, knowledge and the attitudes you need to turn your plans into reality.
One of my favourite story is about flea training. Yes, you probably laughing right now but I’ll make you understand: If you put a handful of fleas in a jar and after put the lid on, the fleas will jump and hit the lid of the jar. But they quickly realize how high they have jump to stop hitting the lid. After adjusting their jump so that they don’t hit, you can take the lid of the jar, because they will now not gonna jump out. They trained in such a way that they only jumped to that height, not above that. In fact, fleas become slaves to their experience and remain trapped in the jar, although they may jump at any time after removing the lid. Is exactly the same with people! Most of the people develop the idea that they can, (or should) only to reach a certain level and that’s it. As a results, they adjust their expectations and get less than they can afford. I think you have the potential to do and achieve much more than you think you are capable of. I think that’s because history is full of stories about men and women who did just that. If you look at the lives of extraordinary people, you find that most of the time, they came from an ordinary life, families and did extraordinary things. Then a turning point emerged in their lives that challenged them to do more than they ever imagined they could. Or maybe they got tired of saying “Enough” Each time they responded to the challenge and any development opportunity.
